Recycle Web App Pool using PowerShell Function. Posted on May 7, 2017 August 2, 2017 by Pawel Janowicz. Today we will go through process for creating PowerShell function which will recycle Web App Pool remotely. For those who are working with Web Applications this might be helpful. Home IIS.NET Forums IIS 7 and Above PowerShell Setting Recycling-Specific Times for application pools. I am trying to set up a series of application pool properties using a PS script. However, one of the properties, Recycling - Specific Times causes some problems. I have tried several approaches, but I can’t seem to get it set.
Hi,We have a several node IIS farm with 50+ applicaiton pools behind a pair of load balancers. Each server has the same exact IIS config. When we do updates to any particular website, we need to recycle only certain application pools.
We cannot just do ablanket IIS reset, as we don't want to kick all of the users out of all websites. Is there a script that we can use from just one of the servers, that will recycle all of the application pools that we specify on every node in the pool? Thanks!. No problem if you're a medieval ages lover. IIS for NT 3.51 was pretty cool too. But, again:I recommended powershell for the 'script way', to be able to do more than a simple application pool recycle.
If it's for doing it on many servers at the same time, a powershell loop seems to me more efficient than a batch script. But beyond the performanceconcern, it's again a question of personal choice. The second point is, for loving live in the past, in the lower versions than IIS 7, appcmd is not available.
